![]() Native of Tijuana, Mexico, Paty Mitchell attended the Baja California Public University, UABC, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a major in Journalism. She is fluent in both, English and Spanish. Paty developed relations with the Tijuana community when she worked as a field reporter for the local news station, Telemundo Channel 33. She delivered stories that portrayed the social and economical situations of the community in Tijuana, learning about the issues that truly affected its residents. During her two years working for Telemundo, Paty also delivered news as an anchor of the “live news” break for the evening night-cast. Paty’s knowledge of the news process and her contacts within the media helped her to successfully carry the duties of media coordinator for the Government of Baja California, where she served as a liaison between reporters and government representatives, including the Governor of Baja California. For two years, Paty also worked for the City of Tijuana as media coordinator of social affairs for the Mayor of Tijuana. In this capacity, she developed strong relationships with the media/press on both sides of the border to help promote the accomplishments of the city of Tijuana’s Government. Some of the duties that these two positions included were the creation and distribution of media advisories, press releases and coordinating press conferences. Paty’s work in public relations with CIM Incorporated began with the launch of XM Satellite Radio in 2001. She assisted with the development and execution of the public campaign for XM Satellite Radio to the Hispanic market in San Diego. In addition to her position with CIM Incorporated, Paty co-owns an Event Planning company in Mexico, where she creates and oversees the strategic planning and execution of large and small scale events for clients. Events include weddings, corporate events and seminars.
